Coaching
Coaching is not
undertaken as a
"league" function at present.
Various clubs undertake
coaching
overseen by qualified ETTA Coaches,
Particularly at
Penryn College
Falmouth Docks TTC
Bridge TTC
Peoples Palace TTC
St Austell TTC
Mylor TTC
In Januray 2007, the ETTA
Coaching qualification
is to be taken over by the UKCC
(The UK Coaching Certificate)
a body supported by 31 individual sports organisations
which will improve the quality of coaching through out the UK
and provide a safe and effective coaching system for
participants within the appropriate sports (Inc table tennis)
From January 2007, all new
coaches will automatically
undertake the new UKCC endorsed qualifications, then apply for
"A License to Coach"
Existing coaches will need to
transfer to the UKCC endorsed qualification
within 3 to 4 years
Progression
Junior players who are under 15 (on 1st Jan 07) can make themselves known to
ETTA hierarchy at Regional Trials.
The Cornwall TTA can nominate 5 boys and 5
girls to attend the Regional Trials (Cirencester, 2/3 Dec) at under 15,
under 13 and under 11 age groups so if you think you know somebody who
should be considered for ETTA Regional and National Training, contact
